You have often stated the Bible is absolutely accurate in the fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecies. In one of your statements, you indicated that Daniel Chapter Nine predicted the time of the First Appearance of the Messiah. Can you explain?

   

I would be most happy to explain! There is no question that the Bible is indeed the Eternal, Infallible Word of God. When we celebrated the wonderful Day we call "THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRANCE OF CHRIST INTO JERUSALEM" this Day was of supreme significance. You recall the crowd of people gathered as Jesus rode into the City on a Lowly Donkey waving their Palm Branches and shouting, "Blessed is the KING who comes in the Name of the LORD; Hosanna to the SON of David; Hosanna in the Highest."

As Jesus drew near, He saw the City, and "WEPT" over it saying, "If you had known, even you, "ESPECIALLY" in this "YOUR DAY" the things that make for your PEACE! BUT NOW THEY ARE HID FROM YOUR EYES." Luke 19:28-48 This is a direct fulfillment of the prophecy written "HUNDREDS" of years before by Zechariah who wrote: "Rejoice greatly, O Daughters of Zion! Shout, O Daughters of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you. He is Just and having Salvation, Lowly and riding on a Donkey, a Colt, the Foal of a Donkey." Zechariah 9:9

With this in mind, this Question arises! Should they have known the "TIME" and even the "DAY" when Messiah, the Christ, would be in their very presence as the Scripture Foretold? The answer is "YES!" Without a doubt, the "TIME" for sure, and I personally believe the "DAY"  as well. It all centers on the account of the Prophecy found in the Book of Daniel, Chapter Nine, where Daniel writes, "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy People and upon thy Holy City Jerusalem. Know therefore, and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto "MESSIAH the PRINCE, shall be SEVEN WEEKS and THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS. (69 Weeks) The streets shall be built again, and the walls even in troublesome times. And after THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS, SHALL MESSIAH BE "CUT OFF" BUT NOT FOR HIMSELF." Daniel 9:24-25

Now, two issues are very important to understand this Prophecy. FIRST: The Seventy Weeks are literally SEVENTY SEVENS OR 70 X 7 which means, the prophecy covers a period of 490 Years. A "WEEK" in this portion is not a Seven Day Week as we know it today, but, "ONE WEEK" equals SEVEN YEARS. You may ask how is this possible? Well, there are sufficient examples to show that this is not something NEW! Do you recall the account of JACOB, who had to work SEVEN YEARS for Laban, the Father of Rachael, the Love of his Heart. Laban said to Jacob, "Fulfill her "WEEK" and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another "SEVEN YEARS!" Then Jacob did so, and fulfilled her "WEEK!" The tough part for Jacob was being DECEIVED by Laban, and having to work 14 YEARS to finally have Rachael as his Wife. Yes "TWO WEEKS!" Here we see a "WEEK" is a SEVEN YEAR PERIOD.

Secondly, each year is "NOT" 365 days as we know it to be today, but, each year is 360 Days. Taking a quick look into the last SEVEN YEARS of this prophecy, the 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL, which is still FUTURE, when the Anti Christ, is in power, reference is made to the number of days in a YEAR, which clearly proves the 360 days in a Year. "And the Woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared of God, that they would feed her there a THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THREE SCORE DAYS!" Revelation 12:6 That is a total of 1,260 Days. Since this refers to the last half of the Seven Year Tribulation Period that is to come, when you divide 1,260 by three and one half Years, the answer is 360 days in a year. If the final week, the final seven years of this prophecy of Daniel is 360 days in a year, then the whole 70 weeks of this prophecy is based on 360 days in each year. NOW KEEP THIS FACT CLEARLY IN MIND.

Now, the Next Question? When did this 70 WEEKS OF YEARS BEGIN? Daniel wrote: "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the Commandment to Restore and to build Jerusalem unto "MESSIAH" the PRINCE, shall be SEVEN WEEKS AND THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS." Daniel 9:27 The beginning point of this prophecy is found in the concern of Nehemiah over the sad condition of his Beloved City, Jerusalem. Recorded in the Book of Nehemiah, Chapter two, this man of God asked King Artaxerxes to allow him to go back to Jerusalem to rebuild the City. In a marvelous way, God moved upon the heart of this King and he issued a Decree allowing Nehemiah to go back SAFELY to rebuild the City. THIS DECREE WAS GIVEN IN THE TWENTIETH YEAR OF HIS REIGN IN THE MONTH OF NISAN, 445 BC.

The starting point of this Prophecy is the Month Nisan, in the year 445 BC. We have already determined that the first 69 WEEKS multiplied by 7 equals a period of 483 Years. Remember BC years (before Christ) have a declining pattern so that when you come to the beginning of AD (after Christ), 445 years of the 483 years have been completed, leaving only 38 more years left for the 483 years to be fulfilled which would bring us to approximately AD 38 when MESSIAH WOULD APPEAR.

 

NOW FOLKS, IF IT WERE NOT JESUS THE CHRIST

  WHO APPEARED HERE ON EARTH - THEN WHO?

      

LET'S TAKE ONE STEP FURTHER ABOUT THE DATE. REMEMBER, DANIEL'S PROPHECY IS BASED ON A 360 Year calendar and not 365 as we noted yesterday. When you multiply 483 years by 360 it gives a total of 173,880 Days in this period of time which is 6.7 years less than when multiplying the 483 years by 365 days in each year. What does this mean? It means the date of Messiah's appearance, taking into consideration the transition from BC (before Christ) to AD (after Christ) is less than the approximate date of AD 38 and is closer to the approximate date around AD 32-33. 

An astounding Scholar, Sir Robert Anderson, allowing for the transition from BC (BEFORE CHRIST) TO AD (AFTER CHRIST) calculated, that going from 445 BC, and working through the 173,880 Days involved with this calculation, it takes us right up to the PRESENCE OF CHRIST RIGHT HERE ON EARTH, AND TO THE "DAY" WE CELEBRATE AS "PALM SUNDAY" WHEN JESUS ENTERED INTO JERUSALEM, HAILED AS THE "SAVIOR" WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.

AMAZING? FRIEND, OUR GOD IS AWESOME! Is there any wonder why our LORD "WEPT" over Jerusalem, saying, "If you had known, even you, "ESPECIALLY" in this "YOUR DAY" the things that make for your PEACE! But now they are Hid from your Eyes. Yes, it was their "DAY" and they "MISSED" IT. But remember, the prophecy states, at the end of the first 69 weeks, "MESSIAH WOULD BE "CUT OFF" BUT "NOT" FOR HIMSELF!"

O Yes, this also was foretold by the Prophet Isaiah who wrote: "He was WOUNDED for "OUR" transgressions, "BRUISED" for OUR iniquities; the Chastisement for our "PEACE" was upon HIM, and with HIS Stripes we are HEALED. All we like Sheep have gone astray, we have Turned, "EVERYONE" to his Own Way, but the LORD laid on HIM, THE CHRIST, THE MESSIAH, the INIQUITY OF US ALL." Isaiah 53:5-6

Friend, "God made Him to be "SIN" for Us, HE WHO KNEW NO SIN, that We might be made the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM." II Corinthians 5:21 I have endeavored  to set before you a few of the basic facts of this Prophecy, as it relates to the "TIMING" of the appearance of the Eternal Son of God, and His foretold Death on the CROSS when He paid the Supreme Price for our SINS as our SUBSTITUTE! I Pray, the Holy Spirit will give you clear understanding of this amazing Prophetic Word, for He promised to lead us into all TRUTH.

"WHO IS THIS?"

On PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 1, 2012 in Churches all over the world, The Body of Christ Celebrated the Glorious Entrance of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, riding on a Lowly Donkey. "Now when they drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two Disciples, saying to them, "Go into the Village opposite you, and immediately you will find a Donkey and a Colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. And if anyone says anything to you, you will say, "The Lord has need of them, and immediately he will send them."

All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Prophet, saying, "Tell the Daughter of Zion, behold your KING is coming to you, Lowly and Sitting on a Donkey, a Colt, the Foal of a Donkey." So the Disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the Donkey and the Colt, laid their clothes on them and set Him on them. And a very Great Multitude spread their clothes on the road; Others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

Then the Multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying "HOSANNA TO THE SON OF DAVID! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST!" And when He had come into JERUSALEM, all the City was moved, saying,

                             WHO IS THIS?

AND THE MULTITUDE SAID, THIS IS JESUS THE PROPHET OF NAZARETH OF GALILEE."   Matthew 21:1-10

Prior to this Glorious Presentation of Himself to the Nation, this question  was raised again and again because of the Powerful Works Jesus performed before their very eyes. Nicodemus, one of the Rulers of the Jews, approached Jesus and pointedly and plainly said, "Rabbi, we know that You are a Teacher come from God, FOR NO ONE CAN DO THESE SIGNS THAT YOU DO UNLESS GOD IS WITH HIM." John 3:1-2 Nicodemus was absolutely correct, however, what this Ruler did not realize was that God was standing right there in his presence in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ,

TRUE GOD AND TRUE MAN!"I TOLD YOU, AND YOU DO NOT BELIEVE. THE WORKS THAT I DO IN MY FATHER'S NAME, THEY BEAR WITNESS OF ME. BUT YOU DO NOT BELIEVE, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF MY SHEEP. AS I SAID TO YOU, "MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME. AND I GIVE TO THEM ETERNAL LIFE AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, NEITHER SHALL ANYONE SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY HAND. MY FATHER WHO HAS GIVEN THEM TO ME, IS GREATER THAN ALL; AND NO ONE CAN SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY FATHER'S HAND.

On another occasion, the Jews surrounded Jesus and said, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them,

I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE!"

When they heard these words spoken by Jesus, "THEY TOOK UP STONES AGAIN TO STONE HIM!" Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father, for which of these do you stone Me? They answered, "For a good work we do not stone you, BUT FOR BLASPHEMY, AND BECAUSE YOU BEING A MAN, MAKE YOURSELF GOD!" John 10:22-33 There is no question that the Leaders of the Day understood only too well what Jesus was claiming for Himself. HE WAS CLEARLY CLAIMING FOR HIMSELF DEITY! HE WAS, IS, AND EVER SHALL BE GOD MANIFESTED IN FLESH"John 6:33-51

WHO IS THIS?

Who is this One Riding into Jerusalem on a lowly Donkey? The Apostle writes: "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Who being in the form of God, POSSESSING THE VERY ESSENCE OF DEITY, did not consider it ROBBERY TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a Bondservant, and coming in the likeness of Men. And being found in appearance as a Man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto DEATH, EVER THE DEATH OF THE CROSS. Therefore God also has highly EXALTED HIM, and given Him a Name that is ABOVE every Name, THAT AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, AND EVERY TONGUE CONFESS THAT "JESUS CHRIST" IS "LORD" TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER." Philippians 2:5-11

Friend, He came to give YOU LIFE, AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANT! Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior. Open the Door of your Heart, and BID HIM ENTER WHILE YOU MAY!

If you will humbly do that, you too will say, HOSANNA TO THE SON OF DAVID. BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST. TRUE TO HIS NAME, HE WILL "SAVE YOU NOW!"

"HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!"

Do you know how this day began? The person who was to become St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland was born in Wales about AD 385. Until Marwyn, (his given name) was "16," he considered himself a Pagan. At that age he was sold into Slavery by a  group of Irish marauders, and finally escaped "SIX" long years later, but during that time sensed his need for God. He traveled to Gaul, and there studied for 12 years in the Monastery under St. Germain, Bishop of Auxere. He opened his heart to the Word of God  and the Gospel, and felt led to turn Pagans to Christianity.

When he would preach, he would use a traditional ICON, the "SHAMROCK" or as we call it, "THE THREE LEAF CLOVER." He used it to illustrate how the "FATHER" "SON" and "HOLY SPIRIT" could exist as Separate Persons of the same Entity. The Scripture is clear in setting forth that God is ONE, yet exist in "THREE" DISTINCT PERSONS.. The very first Book of the Bible sets forth  this great Truth. "Then God said, "Let "US" make man in "OUR" OWN IMAGE, according to "OUR" LIKENESS. So God created man in HIS "OWN" IMAGE, in the IMAGE OF GOD HE CREATED HIM." Genesis 1:26-27

God is "ONE" existing Eternally, without Beginning and without End, in THREE DISTINCT PERSONS. Whatever it is that G0D possesses in HIS being, the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT possess it "EQUALLY." God is ONE in WILL! What the Father "WILLS" so the Son and the Holy Spirit "WILL" in complete "UNITY" of ACTION. God is "ONE" in "GLORY" and "ONE" in "POWER!"

Just as in a Marriage Ceremony when "TWO" are declared to be "ONE FLESH," they are still TWO DISTINCT PERSONS, but now a "UNIFIED ONE" in Holy Matrimony. God is a "UNIFIED ONE" and being "ONE" in "WILL," God so "WILLED" that in the Fullness of Time, the Eternal Son, Jesus Christ, would lay aside all His Heavenly Glory, and "Take upon Himself the Form of a Servant. And being found in the Likeness of Man, He Humbled Himself, and became Obedient unto Death, even the Death of the Cross." Philippians 2:8

Yes, the Son of God "WILLINGLY" went to the Cross of Calvary to "DIE" for the Sins of "ALL" Mankind. He paid the Infinite Price to Free us from the Guilt and Judgment of Sin!  Now, "ALL" who place a Living Faith in the Living Lord, can by the Grace of God say, "There is therefore now "NO CONDEMNATION" to those who are in CHRIST JESUS. Romans 8:1 "For God sent not His Son into the World to Condemn the World, but that the World through Him might be SAVED." John 3:17

Friend, when you embrace Christ as your Personal Lord and Savior, you can say, "NEARER TO GOD I CANNOT BE, FOR IN THE PERSON OF HIS SON, I AM AS NEAR AS HE." If the "THREE LEAF CLOVER" is a good illustration of the "TRINITY" may I suggest that the "FOUR LEAF CLOVER" is a good "ILLUSTRATION" of the "TRINITY" "PLUS" each Individual Believer who by Faith in Jesus Christ Possesses "SPIRITUAL LIFE" and the "ASSURANCE" of being with GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT, "ETERNALLY!"

"PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSING FLOW; PRAISE HIM ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW; PRAISE HIM ABOVE YE HEAVENLY HOSTS; PRAISE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST."
